We love our birthing mamas here are some of their experiences with us!

Birth with Love!

Isabelle

I can’t thank Brooke enough for everything she did for me during my birth process. She spent DAYS with me while I labored at the birth center then supported and advocated for me when I had to make the difficult decision to go into the hospital and have an unplanned c-section. She even made sure my deployed husband was included in everything over FaceTime. Every time someone asks me about my delivery, Brooke is at the center of it. I never imagined having her as my doula would make such an impact on me. She was everything I needed during my most challenging time in my life. She is truly amazing.

My journey with Brooke started before we even saw the two pink lines. We had been trying for quite some time and I reached out to Brooke in August of 2021. I had a very traumatic induction with our first and I do believe that played a role mentally in us trying to get pregnant. Brooke helped guide me to some resources on conceiving and our journey really took off from there. We ended up finding out we were pregnant in November.

There are some people in life that you haven't even meet in person and know that they will make a huge difference in your life. For me this was Brooke. She was always so sweet to talk to and so helpful, actually the first time I met her in person was the day of our delivery. She got right to work and was so calming. The biggest thing that helped with my birth was mentally preparing for it. You know about what could possibly happen with a C-section and induction processes, but mentally being prepared and owning your birth is something more. Brook suggested the Christian hypno birth app I listen to that every night before going to bed and throughout my entire delivery process. My biggest piece of advice for anyone going to be delivering a baby is to welcome every contraction because with them you're one step closer to your baby.

I could not have imagined my birth as perfect as it was, I am so grateful that Brooke was a part of my team. She is going to make a fantastic midwife! I will forever cherish the birth of our son Ezekiel it was so healing and rewarding!

When my husband and I found out that we were pregnant in 2021, we knew right from the start that we wanted to have a doula at our birth. My sister-in-law, who gave birth to our beautiful niece at the beginning of the year, had a doula and said that it made her birth that much better.

I began browsing the internet trying to find a doula who could meet our needs but would also bring a sense of spirituality into our hospital room. We are Catholics and we felt the strong desire to find someone of the Christian faith to help us deliver our gift from God. I found Brooke through one of the Catholic women groups I am in on Facebook and immediately reached out.

From the first time we spoke to Brooke, we knew she was the one for us. Her professionalism, kindness and just overall respect towards us as a couple made it impossible to get her out of our heads when we spoke with other doulas. We immediately told Brooke that we needed her as our doula and we felt as though God had placed her in our lives for this reason!

All our prenatal meetings were over zoom or phone call but it never deterred our blossoming relationship with her. She was always there for us whenever I had any questions or concerns and never made me feel silly for asking something. She welcomed all questions and communications and truly made us feel valued.

The night of my birth, she immediately answered the call when I told her I was in early labor and told me what steps to follow next to ensure I was comfortable and as well rested as possible. Brooke was then in constant contact with my husband to see how I was progressing and to help guide him as well. Once we all arrived at the hospital, she took the initiative to get me moving, switching positions and just advocating for me to ensure that my birth is what I wanted and desired.

I also loved how she got my husband involved and made him feel like he was making a difference in my birth space instead of just sitting down, waiting for our baby boy to come. Her Tens Unit that she allowed us to use was amazing and helped smooth my labor pains. My husband and I always said Brooke was our guardian angel in our room because there was no way we could have done this birth without her. She was constantly lifting me up and telling me “I could do this” even though there were plenty of times I thought I couldn’t.

After our son was born, she didn’t immediately leave. Brooke was by our side, taking photos and making sure everything postpartum went according to my wishes.

Having Brooke as our doula allowed me to have the unmedicated, natural hospital birth that I desired for my first child. We are currently pregnant with our second child and I am thankful to be able to have Brooke by our side once again, this time as we do a home birth! I can’t recommend Brooke enough to anyone who wants a doula and strongly encourage every woman to speak with her if they are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, kind-hearted and overall a great friend.

Brooke

Thank you for everything. Every time I tell my birth story, I always say I have no idea how I could have done it without you!

Where can I start? My husband and I interviewed several doulas, to determine which would be the best fit for us, we didn't feel connected to any. Brooke was our last doula to interview. Immediately after ending the zoom interview, we said she was 'THE ONE'.

Brooke was nothing short of kind, personal and knowledgeable. As first-time parents with minimal family support, we felt we could always turn to Brooke. She answered ALL of our questions and was a phone call away during/after difficult doctor visits. She was a listening ear to tears and our personal cheerleader through our entire journey.

During our 57-hour labor, Brooke was the best emotional support and cheerleader we could have asked for. Her words of encouragement and expert techniques that helped progress the process were so appreciated. She helped me focus my energy on getting my little guy here, safely!

Brooke also took care of my husband, when my labor took a turn, and I had an emergency c-section. He said everything she told him would happen in the OR, happened. She prepped him and told him how to care for me and keep me focused and calm. My husband left the OR feeling sick and Brooke was right there to take care of him.

Our experience with Brooke inspired me to become a doula, to work with women and families. hoping to have an impact the way Brooke has with my family.

Thank you, Brooke, for being YOU and being JUST what we needed. Please continue to impact the lives of women and families, like you have impacted ours. We are so blessed we found Brooke, that she was a part of our pregnancy journey, and she is now a part of our family!

When I got pregnant, I knew right away that I wanted a doula to be part of our birth team. I found Brooke Elizabeth and it was like a match made in heaven (not to mention our husbands went to school together)! Brooke was always available to answer any questions we had and when things took a turn, she was able to provide us with loving support and questions to ask the doctors when we honestly had no clue where to start. It was scary, but she helped us remain calm. We are eternally grateful for the thoughtful care Brooke provided us during the pregnancy, delivery and after we came home and would recommend her a million times over.

We love our doula!

Shelby

Thank you so very much for being a part of the delivery of my first baby! Like I mentioned to you before, in the beginning of my pregnancy, I had plans on becoming an expert at labor and delivery but then realized in my third trimester that was not going to happen! Which is why I am so thankful to have had you guiding me through labor and being that expert for me!

Even though our original plans changed, I appreciated having you there to tackle the next hurdle with. It's one of the reasons that I believe I had a positive birth experience and can look back on it with much peace.

You were an encouraging yet calming presence to have in the room and somehow you knew exactly how much of your help I needed and when! Just a testament of how good you are at what you do!

Thank you again!

Shelby’s Mama

Brooke, you are an excellent doula! my daughter could not stop saying how much she appreciated your guidance and I appreciated it as well! we of course are thrilled with the arrival of baby and will forever remember you as a part of his birthday! Thank you again

p.s. don’t ever let your boys make you think you need to change your job. It would be a great loss to the doula community! (In reference to a conversation we had at birth when my son texted me and asked me to get a job with 'normal' hours)

Elena

I highly recommend having Brooke as your doula! She was incredibly helpful at every step of the process, from forming a birth plan, preparing for labor, through labor and delivery, and postpartum. With her support I was able to achieve the positive birth experience I was hoping for. She supported me and my plan, and she encouraged me to believe in myself that I could achieve it. It was especially valuable to have regular communication in pregnancy and postpartum, particularly when I needed extra emotional support. During labor, she was a calm and steady presence in the toughest moments, and her help in labor was reassuring to my husband and my mom as well. Her knowledge of baby positioning and movement in labor helped my labor progress. She is incredibly hardworking, available, and dedicated to her clients. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful memory of my daughter’s birth because of her help!

As a plus-size first-time mom, I felt like the medical community didn’t have much faith in my body’s ability to carry my baby safely to term and deliver naturally. I am blessed to have an amazing supportive husband and a good doctor, but I felt like I needed someone else in my corner who had been down this birth road before and believed in my strength as a woman. What I didn’t realize was that I also needed someone there who truly valued my unborn daughter’s life and understood the importance of bringing elements of my faith to my birth space. I’m so happy that I decided to look for a doula and that I found Brooke.

Brooke helped the labor go faster by structuring my time, alternating between relaxation techniques and positions to encourage my body to progress. I never felt stuck or stalled or like labor was taking too long. She was a constant reminder that everything was under control and that I was fully capable of bringing my baby into the world the way I wanted to do it.

I also really appreciated that Brooke was there to explain things to my husband and guide him in helping me. He did his best, but ultimately, he wasn’t fully prepared for the birth experience, and I reached a point where I could no longer talk much to tell him what I needed or help him understand what was happening. He appreciated being able to ask her questions when something didn’t seem normal to him or he didn’t know what to do. Watching me go through pain made him anxious, but having Brooke give him tasks to do helped him feel, and be useful to me and calmed him down.

Brooke was present for me when I needed her most and also “invisible” at all the right times so that I could share intimate moments with my husband and my daughter. She took dozens of photos and even a video of the birth (while holding my leg, no less), but I never once caught her doing it, so I never had the chance to feel self-conscious. I’m so grateful for those photos now.

But my favorite thing about Brooke was how protective she was of my birth plan and how outspoken she was when I was too tired or overwhelmed to advocate for myself. My biggest fear was not being heard, but Brooke took the time to get to know me and my birth plan, and she took it upon herself to hear me and to make others hear me. I felt secure knowing that she would speak up for me, and I was in turn able to fully focus on the task at hand.

I specifically remember that a nurse went to wash my baby’s hair shortly after birth, and Brooke stopped her to ask me if it was ok. It was in my birth plan that I didn’t want that done, but I was too tired to say anything about it. Brooke spoke up just enough to remind me that it was important to me and let the nurse know what my wishes were. And when I was able to get around to washing my precious daughter’s hair on my own for the first time, I was so glad to have the opportunity to share that special moment with my little family. I could not have gotten that moment back if Brooke hadn’t said something.

The next time I get pregnant, Brooke will be among the first people I call to make sure she can be at my next birth. Thank you for everything, Brooke!

Having Brooke as my doula was one of the best choices I made during my first pregnancy! It was always so comforting to know I had someone checking in on me and that I could reach out to for support or questions I had. She always supported my decisions but helped inform me of options and give me guidance whenever I needed it. She visited several times during my pregnancy and even did a post partum visit. We opted to do a virtual plan for delivery due to the current covid situation which still worked out perfectly. I was able to be in contact with her at all times when needed and she offered many suggestions to help me stay comfortable throughout my labor. I ended up having a dream perfect labor and delivery and I know it was in part due to the confidence she helped me build and mental tools and techniques she provided me with.

I am honestly not sure if I could have gotten through my labor without Brooke there. Every time I wanted to give up she was there to remind me that I was strong and I could do it. Her gentle hands and kind voice were such a calming presence throughout the entire process. She knew exactly what to say and what I needed to hear in the moment. She followed up with me afterwards multiple times to make sure we were all doing okay. I can confidently say I will not go through labor again without Brooke by my side and my husband feels the same way. He had no idea what a doula did - but just went along with it because I wanted one. We both agreed she was beyond helpful and he appreciated her support as well.

Words cannot describe the support and love Brooke showed us through the birth of our first baby. After an uneventful pregnancy, my eventful labor and birth came unexpectedly. Throughout my 37 hour labor and emergency transfer from the birth house to the hospital, Brooke was there through it all. She endured 30 hours of no sleep to support my husband and I, making sure our voices were heard and making me comfortable in an uncomfortable time! From being TENS unit certified to being a mama of four boys, Brooke’s experience allowed me to be at peace throughout the whole birth of our beautiful boy! I not only trusted her as my doula but gained a friend. I would highly recommend Brooke and believe she would be pivotal to any birth team!

We are so thankful Brooke was there to help bring our baby girl into this world! Even though this was my 4th baby, I was very nervous to go through labor again; Brooke was so supportive and checked in often as we prepared for birth. I had a planned induction at 38 weeks. Brooke came as soon as I called and was there when things began to intensify. She gave helpful suggestions for various positions and I was able to use the TENS unit as a welcome distraction & tool for early pain relief. Then she took on the very intense job of pushing on my back during contractions. It also freed up my husband to hold my hand and feel his support. Both my husband and I were so thankful to have Brooke there and she would be the first person I called if we had another baby.

When I found out I was pregnant I searched high and low for a doula. Everyone that I had been referred to was booked and busy. Finally a company referred me to Brooke or rather referred me to her. Upon speaking to her and meeting with her for the first time I knew that she was the perfect choice for my family and I. Brooke is sweet, open-minded, always cares about what you personally want as the mom in the team that you have. I can’t recommend her enough. I loved my experience with her and I’m sure that if you choose her as your birth partner you will love the experience just as much!

“A huge thank you to Brooke for helping me along the way of bringing my beautiful daughter into this world August 30th 2020. Honestly I had never had a doula with my first born nor did I really know what one was until I was introduced to Brooke. She was by far the best decision I ever made! She was caring and nurturing from the beginning to the end. Words cannot describe the level of compassion and comfort she brought to me during he labor and delivery of my baby girl. I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to experience birthing with such a wonderful woman!! Thank you again Brooke! I highly recommend her to any mother interested in doula services.”

“I cannot speak highly enough of this woman, especially considering the circumstances of how she was hired for our case — I was in active labor when she was recommended to me by my midwife. That’s right! It was over the phone that I could hear the compassion and great heart for talking mamas through their experiences when I knew we had to hire her. My husband was skepitcal, at first, but when the ball was rolling, he was absolutely convinced that we would have been a lost cause without her help. Brooke, I do wish we had gotten to hire her sooner. But through our circumstance, funny as it is for being late in the game, she is worth it. I can promise you that.

Thank you, Brooke, For all that you’ve done. I am so grateful for you.”

“Brooke is amazing! I would recommend her as a doula for any woman! Giving birth during this crazy pandemic was beyond stressful and she helped keep a positive mindset! She is very kind and understanding, courteous and made the hard process of labor and delivery much easier! She helped me stick to the birth plan until physically we weren’t able to. She tried various things for distraction and comfort, to naturally help with my extremely intense birth. She also takes great pictures that are perfect for keepsakes and the baby book! She was the only one besides the doctors to witness my child be brought into this world, she she is now officially a part of my tribe, I love her!”

“I was blessed to have my daughter on September 23rd, we are so in love! I had my sister, Brooke with me to help me through the birth. I cannot tell you how much Brooke helped me through it. I felt like I literally couldn't do it without her. The thing is I know I could've done it without her, but I would not have wanted to and the experience wouldn't have been as good. I was laboring at home and the pain got worse and worse. It was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. Brooke came to my house to help me through it and let me tell you, even though you are still in pain she helped a lot. She helped take my mind off the pain. She would explain over and over that I would get to see my baby soon and how exciting that was. Even that alone helped me get through a contraction but also Brooke would rub my back and grab my hips when a contraction came on. It came to the point when a contraction would start and I would yell 'Hips!' and Brooke knew to grab my hips and add pressure. It was the biggest thing to get me through the contraction and help with pain. My husband was with me the entire time and was as helpful as he could be. But with Brooke being trained as a doula she has many tricks and extra ideas to help. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone having a baby!!”
